Sample settings
As part of the booking process and the subsequent activation of the booking page, it is possible, among other things, to choose whether one of the sample settings should be applied. Choosing a specific sample setting can be especially appropriate when you know for what purpose you will use the reservation system. Clicking on the sample setup creates resources, dates, adjusts the booking page settings and creates a sample booking. Sample settings can serve not only to better familiarize yourself with the system, but also to get up and running and receive real reservations even faster. The description below provides an overview of the specific settings that are applied when a given sample is selected.
The sample settings serve as an illustration of the system setting options and possibly as a helper to start using the reservation system. This is not a setting that is in any way binding or formally correct in terms of the services offered.
COVID testing or vaccination
This sample setup is inspired by a situation where it is necessary to organize a large number of activities (testing, vaccination, etc.) using short time intervals.
The first step is to create resources, which are then used to filter the offer of terms, in the form of a signpost. Specifically, these are resources of the type Service: Antigen testing and Antibody test.
The reservation menu is based on term of type Interval, which is used here in two situations with different parameter settings. Antigen testing is set as a 5-minute interval with a capacity of 10 people per time slot. The antibody test is then set as a 10-minute interval with a capacity of only 2 people. In addition, price setting is also used for the term for antibody testing, i.e. the reserved service is not free. Problems of online payments is not addressed in the sample and requires specific settings and connection to the payment gateway.
An important functionality within this example scenario is custom reservation forms. Thanks to them, it is very easy to expand the standard booking form with the items needed to specify the information about the tested person or for subsequent reporting of completed reservations. In the sample, two forms are created, separately for both types of terms. The form for antigen testing contains several items needed to identify the person being tested, including the selection of a health insurance company or the entry of a birth number (insured person number), including verification of correctness. The form for testing for antibodies serves rather to supplement statistical data.
Within settings of the reservation page a mode is selected where the signpost is displayed first, due to which the visitor must first choose which service he is interested in. The display of the offer of dates for booking is then set so that the visitor has the option to page by week and is not shown the overall overview calendar, which in this case is not very effective. Specifically, this involves setting the way the reservation page is displayed to "list - 7 upcoming days", enabling pagination and displaying dates as a calendar.
From the perspective of creating the reservations themselves it is set that data such as the customer's name, surname, e-mail and phone number are required. Reservations can also be made in the system for unregistered users, however, registration and login are also possible, which can of course be changed. As part of the extended settings, a function is activated where a QR code is also generated for each reservation for subsequent check-in using the mobile application. There is also a pre-set illustration text on the booking page, which you can edit according to your specific needs.
The last part of the sample setup then adjusts the times within the general setup that affect when reservations can be made or canceled. Specifically, the setting is such that a reservation can be made at least a week in advance (before the specific testing date) and at the latest an hour in advance, if of course there is a free space. Reservations can be canceled no later than one day before the ordered testing date.
Rental of tennis courts
The sports center usually offers court reservations at regular time intervals, where the customer chooses a specific time. This example is quite widely applicable for various types of rentals not only of sports fields, but also of entire spaces or even specific objects.
The term is based on sources, which can be set in advance or during the compilation of the term. In this case, there are two sources of service (tennis and tennis with a coach). This service subsequently branches into two other site resources (court 1 and court 2). The last source is an employee acting as a trainer.
The time type of term is characteristic for sports venue rentals, here a term of the type Interval. In order to be able to offer the rental of the court at a lower price between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., two dates have been created here that differ only in their period and price. As a result, both dates appear as one on the booking page and the booking price depends on the selected booking time. In addition to the date for booking individual courts, there is also a date for booking a court with a coach. At the moment, there may be a collision if the customer only books the court, and there is also a person interested in a lesson with a trainer. The reservation system solves this problem by setting collision monitoring to a resource that has a conflict of interest and that is precisely the tennis court.
The default reservation form requires basic information from the customer necessary to create a reservation, however, the form has been expanded with its own field in order to offer the customer the possibility of renting the necessary accessories. This situation was simply solved by adding a check box, which is accompanied by a selection of options with a price for the back of a specific number of tennis rackets rented.
The frequency of appointments is relatively high, and to display the maximum number of appointments, the method display appointments in the calendar is selected, and this is also for the whole week. In this way, the customer is offered a view of the occupancy of the appointment throughout the entire week, and it is therefore more likely that you will find an available suitable appointment.
Cultural events
Cultural events are typically one-off events and can be approached in different ways. In this sample, two variants of the term are set, they differ in their type and also in the setting procedure. The first term is a concert event, which is characterized by a specific capacity limitation and possibly different price options. The second variant in the form of a ball already works with a specific map of seats intended for reservation.
Each term is linked to resources, here specifically it is a city park for a concert and a cultural center in the case of a ball. For events where only the entrance itself is reserved without a specific place, a term of the type One single event is suitable, which has its fixed beginning and end. Given that, in addition to the basic entrance fee, there may also be a discounted option for students, there are two price options for the customer to choose from. Before defining the date for the masquerade ball, it is also necessary to draw up a seat map representing the organization individual tables so that the customer has a clear idea of the position of the specific reserved seat. Each chair or seat must be assigned to a category, which then allows different prices to be defined within the term. The reservation system also allows for online payments, so the customer does not only have to reserve his ticket, but can also purchase it directly.
As part of the extended settings, a function is activated that also generates a QR code for each reservation for subsequent check-in using the mobile application. The reservation confirmation has a defined default form summarizing the basic information about the reservation, however, it is possible to customize the appearance of the ticket and add, for example, your own graphic elements.
Due to the assumed low frequency of dates, the way of displaying the reservation page is set to a list, where the list of events intended for reservation is displayed simply and clearly. The customer is freed from the obligation to search the calendar in a complicated way and can immediately proceed to the selection of a date via the list.
Motorhome and caravan rental
There are specific cases where the reservation does not necessarily refer only to services or places, but also to specific items that are themselves the source of the reservation. In these cases, it is appropriate to focus on the time types of terms. In this demonstration, a multi-day rental of motorhomes and caravans is implemented.
For each motorhome or caravan, a resource is created with a corresponding description, including for display in the signpost, where the term, i.e. a specific subject, is selected. Before making a reservation, it is necessary to obtain the customer's consent to deposit a refundable deposit, and for these purposes it is useful to create a custom reservation form with a mandatory check box. A url link to the terms and conditions can also be inserted into the name of such a field. The booking form is assigned for each term within its settings, but it is also possible to set such a form globally, it is applied automatically for each term.
The reservation can start on any day, so just create one appointment with daily repetition for each motorhome or caravan. The rental is done at the level of days, which is why Multiple days term type is selected here, which has a set reservation length limit. Each created reservation must be at least 3 days long and a maximum of 21 days, in addition, a specific time for the start and end of the reservation is also specified here, which is hidden. The price is defined firmly, however, it is possible to use so-called conditional prices, which give the possibility to offer a lower price for longer reservations or, conversely, a higher price for shorter reservations.
Before a customer attempts to make a reservation, they must register. Registration form can be supplemented with other data items and, for example, mandatory fields can be set to obtain complete information about the customer. In this sample, in addition to name and contact information, address, gender, and date of birth are also required. These are parameters that are already introduced in the customer's detail, but are not mandatory. This setting allows you to create a complete customer profile. A separate reservation form can also be a certain alternative here.
On the booking page, introductory guidepost is set, so the customer gets an overview of all offered motorhomes and caravans at a glance , which are on the menu. For multi-day bookings, it is clear that customers will make bookings from the following day at the earliest, so setting the default day in the calendar depends on this assumption. The deadline for canceling a reservation is set one week before the start of the term.
